well so I resigned right there. I came down and went over to the Employment Office and they said they had an opening in Montpelier. Idaho. I took it and went to Montpelier.
Interviewer: What year was it that you went to Montpelier?
Orson Clark: It would be '26 and '27. I loved it there. They put me in charge of the senior class. I was just out of school, you know.
Interviewer: There wasn't much age difference between you and the senior class. You weren't very much older that the senior class were you?
Orson Clark: Well the senior class was just high school kids.
Interviewer: They didn't have any older kids going to high school?
Lucille Clark: They would be 17 and 18 in the senior class.
Orson Clark: yes they would. We had some bright students there, some good students. Boy, we went after it. They used to like it.
Interviewer: That was a Mormon community wasn't it?
Orson Clark: Oh, yes.
Lucille Clark: You see, Walter lived in Georgetown and the Uncle Wilford's boys lived there.
Interviewer: So you were with a lot of family then. And you were up there with him?
Lucille Clark: Yes. I went with him.
Interviewer: Where did you live?
Orson Clark: We rented a house. There were places to rent there in Montpelier.
Interviewer: How long were you there?
Orson Clark: One year.
Ruth Knowlton: Why did you leave?
Orson Clark: They didn't need me anymore. I was employed because of a shortage of some kind.
Lucille Clark: The principle was sick and he was in Oregon in the hospital.
