Orson Clark-11/30/81 - Pg 5

in Farmington, beginning with the first on up?

Orson Clark: I started out as Assistant Scout Master. When I was ordained to the Priesthood, I was secretary of the Deacons.

Interviewer: What age were boys made Deacons at that time?

Orson Clark: About the same age.

Interviewer: Twelve.

Orson Clark: Then I was in the presidency of the local M.I.A. I was in the superintendency of the stake M.I.A. Did you know Heber Green Richards?

Interviewer: I don't think so.

Orson Clark: Anyway, he was the superintendent and I was a counselor to him. I was in the Seventies, went right through the seven presidents of Seventies. I was in the Bishopric.

Interviewer: Of the Farmington Ward?

Orson Clark: Yes, the Farmington Ward. I was in the Stake Presidency.

Interviewer: Were you the First or Second Counselor in the Bishopric, or were you the Bishop?

Orson Clark: I was the Second Counselor and then I was First Counselor.

Interviewer: Then when you were in the Stake Presidency, what position was that?

Orson Clark: I was the Second Counselor in the Stake Presidency.

Interviewer: That was the Davis County Stake?

Orson Clark: Davis Stake. When they divided, it used to be North Davis and South Davis. North Davis was from Kaysville north and from Kaysville south, was South Davis. When they divided it, they divided and made Kaysville, Farmington, and Centerville as Davis Stake which I was in the presidency there. At the time while I was in the presidency, after about four and a half years, I moved to Oregon. They used me in about every way that was possible. If they had problems in the Priest Quorums or the like, the President up there would send me to take care of them. And I was on the High Council up there.

Interviewer: Here in Farmington, how important would you say that the church was in the lives of the people when you were growing up?
