June 25th. They moved father Clark up to Eddie's and they down here thinking perhaps it will make it better all around.
July 5th. I came home--Charley came down for me. September. We contemplate a trip to Bear Lake. On the 13th Charley went to Farmington to get the carriage. He never returned until 16th. Emma sent a telegram to see if he was safe as he took.a new route over the mountain, and stayed so long we were worried about him. He brought the carriage loaded with fruit Sunday night. I went over there, brought most of the fruit over here as then Emma expects to go away, but on Monday Charley decides to take us all. He sent me word in the afternoon. I then bottled my fruit and preserved some. I got most of it taken care of and mixed bread to take with us. Went to bed at nine o'clock and got up at twelve and began to bake bread and finish my fruit. At four o'clock Marion came and I was soon over there and ready to go. We started in the little buggy about six o'clock. The others did not start until about noon.
To me, I enjoy seeing new scenes and the valleys and mountains are fine to behold, but there are trials as well as pleasures. It is a new experience for us all and some practical polygamy, but I think it a good thing for us. It is good for the children, and I like it for the experience, if not for the real pleasure in it. October 11th. Charley brought the carriage down and we all stayed with Sarah on the night of the 11th. Charley went back next day.
October 23rd. I get along well with my fruit, and now I desire to go to the temple, so on Tuesday, October 23 I went to Salt Lake, Mother Clark took me to the dummy and I succeeded in getting there in time. I was baptised for my health and for a number of others of Aunt Elizabeth's folks.
I went through the remainder of the week. Charley came and went through Thursday and Friday so we had a fine time. I stayed with Harriet and Thomas only Thursday night when Charley and I stayed at Aunt Elizabeth's. We walked up to Thomas' in the evening and back on Friday. We were favored by having the privilege of going all through the temple. A kind brother took us through and showed us all the different departments explaining them to us. It is grand. Charley went up City Creek over the mountain that night. It stormed and he had a hard time--got home at 3:30 a.m. I got left and had to go on a later train .and stayed at Centerville all night at Brother Wooleys Jr. Mary and I had a nice visit and Brother J. took me to Farmington next morning.
November 8th. Emma came down with Joseph's carriage to bring me home. We came home Saturday the 10th. Charley brought us over after attending a meeting in the evening.
November 12th. Charley has taken the Richville school and begins today. I gave him an invitation to come over to dinner and he seemed inclined to accept. Ne starts seem to be appearing within our horizon. Their rays are shining brighter for us. We can associate together with more freedom. It does seem good to have a father and husband in our home even a little.
