has promised me sons and daughters."
Ina. few years I was blessed with another fine husband Joseph A. Silver. Born to me were three fine sons: Ezra Clark Silver, Joel Clark Silver, and LeGrande Clark Silver.
Keith Where did you live?
Laura We lived in a very nice home on Ninth East, in the Forest Dale Ward. We enjoyed living there, the people were very friendly. Clark (Ezra) was born there, he was a beautiful baby, and I was so happy to have a son. Then in a couple of years Joel was born. We were very happy in that home. I remember at Christmas time, after the children had gone to bed, I trimmed the Christmas tree in the parlor-it touched the ceiling-and I dressed some dolls, about eight dolls; these were dolls they'd had at Christmas before, and I wanted to make them up new to put on the tree. We also had little trains, and different things. It was a joyous Christmas.
We went from that home to the home on Harvard Avenue, 1539 Harvard Avenue. It was a beautiful home, we were very happy there. The little boys had scooters to ride. Daddy Silver's business had taken him to New York, and he sent a wagon set to our home for the boys to use. We have plenty of everything, Daddy was very generous, and we had a trip to New York several times. First of all I went on a trip to Chicago, then next time I went to New York and took two of my boys along with me, and then again we went to New York. Before we went to New York, I wanted to say, that we belonged to a lovely ward, the Yale Ward, and I belonged to the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers there, and I entertained them in my home, and I gave them a lovely lunch, several of the ladies wanted the receipts of my Chicken Ala King, which I served. The people in that ward were very friendly. I went Relief Society teaching and to Relief Society meeting. We lived in this home for quite a number of years, until Daddy business confined him in New York. He asked us to come there. We rented out home and went to New York and lived there three years.
Keith When was LeGrande born?
Laura Legrande was born before we went to the Harvard Avenue home.
Keith How did you get to New York when you went?
