Utah Banker Observes 95th Birthday

FARMINGTON- AMASA L. Clark. believed to be the nation's oldest active banker, we be 95 years old Monday.
A BIRTHDAY celebration Sunday will mark the anniversary and Monday will be "business as usual" for Mr. Clark, president of the Davis County Bank, Farmington.
Speakers at a special testimonial program, scheduled Sunday at 7 p.m. at the Farmington First-Seconds LDS Ward Chapel, will include Dr. Obert C. Tanner, Salt Lake City, and President Milton J. Hess, Davis Stake. Music will be furnished by a special chorus of children.
MR. CLARK was born in Farmington June 6, 1865, a son of Ezra T. and Mary Stevenson Clark.
His father founded the Davis County Bank and after 54 years as a cashier for the organization, Amasa L. Clark was named its third president.
ACTIVE IN CIVIC, political and church affairs, he has been mayor of Farmington for two terms; served as city treasurer for 20 years; has been president of the Davis County Board of Education and has participated in American Red Cross and Boy Scouts of America activities.
In addition, he was bishop of the Farmington LDS Ward for a period of 16 years.
HE AND HIS WIFE, the former Susan Duncan, reside at 291 W. State Street, Farmington. They are the parents of eight sons and daughters, five of whom are living; Sterling Clark, Burley, Idaho; Herold Clark, Provo; Julian Clark, Redwood City, Calif.; Mrs. Nell Clark Partridge, Montclair, N.J., and Dr. Dale D. Clark Farmington.
