When I was going to BYU in the late 1940s I would go to Farmington from time to time to visit my grandfather Amasa and to borrow money from him. He would write me a check without hesitation. The summer after my second year at BYU I worked on a farm in Idaho and then on my way home to California, after harvest, I stopped in Farmington to see my grandfather and to pay back the money I had borrowed over the previous two school years. That made big points (with my grandfather)! Before continuing on to California he sent me to Salt Lake City with my Uncle Dale to buy suits for my mission. During my mission he regularly sent money to my home ward to contribute to my mission.
