John is the second son of Brother Clark’s that has died in the missionary field. His oldest, Ezra James, died in a railway car at Fonda, New York, July 14" 1868 while returning with a company of saints from a mission to England on which he started May 20" 4865 when he was 19-years old. Five other sons have filled missions in the southern states. They have had a good example to pattern after. The father of seven missionary boys having been on several missions in Europe and different parts of the United States also. He came to Utah in 1848.
