Kindex

from Columbia University, N. Y.. She also did graduate work at B. Y. U., Northwestern Univ. and Univ. of California at Berkeley. She had a distinguished teaching career which took her to most of the states in the U. S .. And as the oldest Vista member at 84, she taught in Montana, Las Vegas and Washington D. C. Her career made her nationally known and she was the author of many teaching manuals and books on reading skills. Once she was asked if she ever got lonely and she replied "When I'm alone, I'm in good company." In February of 1980 Aunt Ellen entertained for an hour at a Layton, Utah Literary Club Meeting. "A good and faithful servant is what she longed to be When she left her heavenly home and came so willingly. Though stumbling blocks have lined her path And failure had been near Well done, thou good and faithful one Is what, I'm sure, she'll hear ....." (This tribute was prepared from a talk given by LaVerne Norr HARRIS (M2-6-6) at Ellen's Graveside services October 15, 1980 at the Provo City Cemetery).

WE APPLAUD:

Delora Prince HUNT, wife of Clyde G. HUNT (M2-2-7-6) who will graduate from Dixie College this Spring.

We are all most honored to claim Merlin OLSEN(M2-3-9-2) as part of our Ezra T. Clark posterity and to be able to call him "Father, Uncle, Brother or Cousin ... " As many of us know, for 14 years he played Pro-football and was voted the Most Valuable Lineman in the Pro Bowl., and was awarded the Maxwell Trophy as the NFL's Most Valuable Player as well as many other awards.

Currently, he is a network TV analyst (and one of the very best) in addition to acting in "The Little House on the Prarie". He also has appeared in many other TV programs.

More importantly, he has worked extensively for those in serious need, such as Vice President for the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Chairman of the Heart Fund, and has spent much time working for and with the Boy Scouts, church groups etc ..

He seems to never forget those who have helped him along the way either and remembers to give the helping hand so naturally to so very many along lifes way. "At no stage of his career has his hatband been too tight."

Truly he is an example to all of us, while in the midst of his young life in athletics, his Pro-Football days, now his career and always in his personal life. We all THANK YOU Merlin.
