A-6 (7)

A "phonologist" came to Georgetown ID. He told me I should be a doctor. My mother (Permelia Dunn Clark) did so many things to help people. I dorve the horse and buggy for her when she was in relief society. I was going with her, one time, to her parents place on 4 mile. There was a car turned over and a man bleeding. Mother had a sterile bandage. She always had things to help. She put it on him and had me hold pressure on it while she went up to her parents place to call a doctor from Montpelier. (TTTT)

My dad (WW) was running the ranch by himself. He expected me to come back and run it. I was studying to be a doctor. I was small in stature and had no intentions of farming. In 1933 Legrand was leasing and living at 1-18. It was Aunt Alice's place, Edward Barrett Clark's second wife. Legrand was thinking of buying the place. I went and told dad (A-6) that the ranch can't take care of more than one family. I told him what Legrand was planning to do and that I was not going to come back and farm. Besides, Legrand was tall and big muscled and loved ranching. It was then that I persuaded father to have Legrand take over the farm. Legrand & Rhoda moved into A-6 and. Then two years later moved to their own home (A-11). (TTTT)

W loved to play checkers and shuffleboard. In the summer us kids would work and play and race horses. (TTTT)

Wilford Woodruff said "Now my boy, the way to make the coats shine is you get a hand full of this nice meadow hay and rub it around on the horses coat." He had a Black Morgan stallion and he would ride him in parades. (AAA)

It was my birthday and I went over to grandma Clark's (Permeila) to take her a present. She gave me a big goose egg for my birthday. Rhoda Kunz Clark was living in the back of the house at A-6. She gave me a quarter, a nickel and a dime. (AAA)

The Clarks were patient and never seemed to be in a hurry. A common saying as the moon came over the eastern hills was "There comes the Clark lantern." (H1)
