Interviewer: Did you and Ford just go by yourselves?

Orson Clark: Yes.

Lucille Clark: Yes, I moved back to Mother's. We had a mother to go to.

Interviewer: Where did you go when you were peddling?

Orson Clark: Out around Bend and Burns, Oregon.

Interviewer: What were you peddling?

Orson Clark: Knit goods, sweaters, and all kinds of stuff.

Ruth Knowlton: No suits? They hadn't gone into the suit business then?

Orson Clark: Well, they had suits but we didn't do it.

Ruth Knowlton: You stayed with blankets and sweaters.

Orson Clark: It was mostly blankets and sweaters.

Interviewer: Would you peddle in town or to farmers?

Orson Clark: Oh, no. We'd go out to the mills. That's lumber country We would go to the stores and catch these people that would buy.

Ruth Knowlton: Did you do quite well that summer?

Orson Clark: Not too well. Things were hard. They were rough. Bend didn't have too much work. Oh, they would live but that was all. They just got by.

Orson Clark: No.

Interviewer: What did you do when you got back home?

Orson Clark: Went back to work again.

Interviewer: How did you enjoy the summer? Did you have any interesting experiences?
