Laura said she was always welcome at Aunt Mary's home. Family prayer was a common practice when Laura came to visit. Mary, being the first wife, was placed in charge of distributing the food to the two families. All the children were given like clothing, but Laura said that her mother had given her dress "tucks and lace" so that she "didn't mind it being the same cloth as the others."

Laura said her father was tight with money, though he was considered a rich man. He started the Bank in Farmington. He was also able to obtain much land in the Farmington area.

Laura had great respect and love for her father, her mother, and Aunt Mary. Each of these people played an important part in her life. Laura enjoys telling about the activities there two families had together.

Laura married Mark Cook March 30, 1905. Mark died and Laura remarried. When the second husband died, she married a Mr. Cook. She thought it was strange that her first and third husband had the same last name. Laura has had six children.

Laura has been a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and various other clubs. She has lived in Utah and New York. She loves her family and hopes to reach 100.
