Wilford had a black horse named Diamond. Wilford had a hired hand to take some cattle to star valley WY for him. The next morning Wilford noticed his prized stallion was gone. The sheriff was called. Wilford wore soft shoes. Somebody rode down the lane. Their horse stopped, raised up, lifted his foot up and put it on Wilford's foot. Wilford said to his son Legrand "Heavy Horse Legrand". Then the horse turned and scrapped the top of the shoe off and also Wilford's toe nail. Wilford said "Exceptionally heavy horse Legrand". He had a lot of self control. (KKKK)

Wilford was a terrible driver. He would back the old blue chevy out of the garage and tear down the bumpy dusty road with gusto. One time I was riding with him when he came to a construction crew working on the highway. He swerved off the road, down into the borrow pit we went and back up on the road without even slowing down. I thought the end had come but Wilford Woodruff drove on completely unconcerned. (B7)

Permelia started an 'Ice-cream' factory on the ranch. She said "I can't knit all my life." There was too much milk and cream. She came up with the recipe. There was strawberry, maple nut, raspberry, vanilla, etc. She sold it to Montpelier ID, Soda Springs ID, Logan Ut, Bannock County and all over. (TTTT)

Wilford said there had never been a time when he doubted the truth of the Gospel. (B7) He exercised his faith many times.

One time Wilford and Robert Shmid were called to administer to Vera Kunz of Bern. She was paralyzed by polio in all of her extremities and her back was bowed. The blessing took place one winter. She was promised that when the birds began to sing and the buds burst open in the spring that she would be able to use her limbs and walk again. In the spring she slowly regained use of her hands and feet and learned to walk. She had a normal life and reared three lovely children. (B7)
