Interviewer: What was the one ward called when you were there?
Orson Clark: Vale Ward.
Interviewer: Was the chapel in Vale?
Orson Clark: Yes.
Interviewer: How were relationships between Mormon and non-Mormon farmers up there?
Orson Clark: They were all right.
Interviewer: You didn't face any prejudices or anything like that?
Orson Clark: No.
Ruth Knowlton: Was anyone raising any berries of any sort in that area?
Orson Clark: Across the river they raised berries, Fruitland.
Ruth Knowlton: It seemed to me that there were berries up in that area, but I wasn't sure.
Orson Clark: Out the Vale way, there was only one chap that used to raise strawberries.
Interviewer: You said you also had a dairy up there didn't you?
Orson Clark: Yes.
Interviewer: How many head of cattle were you milking?
Orson Clark: Oh, about twenty-five. I had about thirty head.
Interviewer: You said they were Jerseys as I recall. Were you growing alfalfa for your own cattle or were you growing alfalfa to sell for hay?
Orson Clark: For my own feed and when I had surplus I would sell it.
Interviewer: Were there any years that you were hit by drought up there while you were farming?
Orson Clark: Yes, there was one year that was quite dry.
Interviewer: Were you able to make any money that year?
