August 5th. The family gathered in and held services for Leland again at grandpa's house. Prayer ,;-,as offered by D. Clark and Wilford Clark spoke some length and his grandpa Clark followed. Closing prayer by his grandpa also. As services were held once they had no singing. Then Leland was laid by the side of Karl, and the folks came home that night.

August 6th. Before Gladys got over from her Aunt Emma's she fell in the mill race. Would have drowned, but her Aunt Emma happened to see her in time. She had floated down some feet.

Monday December 9th. Grandpa came up Tuesday and Tuesday night. I knit a mitten and finished one for Charley to go out and drive some stock for his father. The sleighs are running some.

By December 20th the sleigh road is good, so we have fine sleighing for Christmas.
