the body and we shall not lose even a hair of our heads but all will be in our perfect forms. This will be done in the resurrection and we shall stand before the judgement seat of God and be judged for the ddeds done in the body. There are many different degrees of glory in our Father's kingdon and we shall inherit them according to our merits. The Lord has given to us commandments, and if we obey them, we shall participate in the glory.

This was fully understood by Mr. C. R. Clark, my visitor, of whom I have been speaking; consequently, he resolved to go forth and endeavor to live the highest law revealed to man via celestial marriage. So it was with this intent that he came to see me. That being a divine principal, the wicked are trying to persecute it, and cause that its practice should cease, but the Latter-Day Saints--some of them--are firm and full of integrity, determined to do their duty; for they aspire to be as Gods which is their privilege if they so conduct themselves as to be worthy of it.

Well, the subject was introduced in a very gentlemanly way, and I always had a desire to do the will of my Father in heaven, and I knew that by taking such a step He would be pleased to bless me. I was somewhat acquainted with his wife and liked her very much. After our visit he departed leaving me to meditate and give him a decided answer as soon as I felt like I could.

All things had to be wrought secretly for there was a fine and imprisonment for any who would dare to carry out his religious convictions.

This explains the reason the hours were so untimely. We could not contemplate serving God openly under the stars and stripes of the American flag, but that liberty for which our forefathers fought, bled and died has been wrested from us, and we are now struggling with the wicked for our rights which were bequeathed to us by the constitution of the United States; which are to serve God according to the dictates of our own consciences. It took a great deal of faith and humility to accept the proposition of Mr. Clark but I thought seriously, and made it a matter of prayer, and his succeeding visits proved successful for I gave him an affirmative answer; so this meant I agreed to become his second wife. After a few visits a trip was planned to Logan. As we could not travel together, I had to go and return alone. I went to Uintah by team with my brothers and from there I took the train which arrived in Logan at two o'clock on Tuesday the 23rd of November. Mr. Clark came on another train later in the day. I went to the hotel and it so happened that he stayed at the same one, but I did not see him. He came late and went away early. When the morning of the 24th came, it was a cold, frosty morning. There was some snow on the ground in that city, and I was conveyed to the temple in a carriage, and after arriving there I met the one to whom I pledged my love, and expected to soon be united in wedlock to share each others joy and sorrows forever. We went forth through the house of he Lord. I received my endowments and he went through for some dead person. Oh what a sweet influence we felt in that holy place. It seemed as if the holy angels were witnessing the proceeding in there and we knew they were, for no other spirit, only the spirit of God could wield such an influence. How I appreciate the opportunity of receiving my washing and annointing
