Glendon Clark PORTER (M3-4-3) and Mildred Bushnell PORTER served in Massachusetts Boston Mission Sept 13, 1979 to March 23, 1981. They report: '~e arrived at the Mission Training Center at Provo, Utah on Sept 13, 1979 and spent four wonderful, spiritual weeks there. We arrived in our first field of labor in Salem, N.H. Oct 22, 1979. We did enjoy the Georgetown Ward there very much. On May 1, 1980 we were transferred to North Bellerica, Mass. where we stayed the remainder of our mission. We made friends there and loved the people very much.
Our mission was a very special, wonderful experience and we will always cherish it. The Lord looked after us and we were blessed in so many ways. We not only did proselytizing, but also worked with inactive members, whom we grew to love. Last November at Zone Conference, Pres. Tempset told us that because of some new rules for older couples, we were at liberty to go home with an honorable release or stay if we wished. The decision was up to us and we chose to stay the full eighteen months. In fact we stayed a week and a half past the eighteen months. The Lord surely blessed us during this time as seven of our nine baptisms took pace after we made the decision to stay. Our last baptism was just a week before we left Bellerica, March 23, 1981. We arrived in Utah April 4, 1981. After the test of faith, the blessings come, and that surely is what happened to us. We add our testimony to the truthfulness of the gospel!
