Death Takes Davis Figure, 96, Father of S.L. Juvenile Judge

FARMINGTON — Edward Barrett Clark, 96, a leader in Davis County civic and church affairs, died Friday after an illness at 388 N. Main, home of a daughter.
Mr. Clark, a former Davis County bank director and president and director of Federal Land Bank of Berkeley, Calif., Farmington Branch, had served as Davis County treasurer, Commercial Club president, city councilman,, justice of the peace and Davis County commissioner.
RETIRED 23 years ago from farming and cattle raising, he also had been a director of Davis County Irrigation Co. and had served for a time as secretary of Davis County Livestock Assn.
He devoted much time to work in the Salt Lake Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and from 1908 to 1910 he served an LDS mission to the Northern States.
Born April 7, 1859, in Farmington, he was a son of Ezra T. and Mary Stevenson Clark.
He married Wealthy Richards, on Sept. 25, 1879, in the old Salt Lake LDS Endowment House. He married Alice Randall on April 2, 1885, in the Logan LDS Temple.
Survivors include six sons and three daughters. Walter E. and Melvin J. Clark, Georgetown, Idaho; Mrs. Owen (Mary C.) Ellis, Edward F. Clark, Farmington; Judge Rulon W. Clark, Salt Lake City; Bryant R. Clark, Colonia Juarez, Mexico; Mrs. Harvey (Rhoda) Taylor, Colonia Dublin, Mexico; Mrs. Rubin (Maurine) Wyber, Roy; Orson R. Clark, Vale, Ore.
ALSO SURVIVING are 42 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; four brothers and two sisters, Joseph S. and Wilford W. Clark and Mrs. Laura Cook, Salt Lake City; Amasa L. Clark, Farmington; Nathan G. Clark, Bountiful, and Mrs. Alice Steed, Syracuse.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m., in the Farmington First-Second LDS Chapel by DeVaughn Jones, First Ward bishop. Friends may call Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Union Mortuary, Bountiful, and Tuesday at the Owen Ellis residence from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in Farmington Cemetery.
